Verizon Wireless reminds consumers to take steps now to comply with new driver safety initiatives. Motorists in California have less than four months to get ready to comply with a new state law requiring drivers over the age of 18 to use hands-free devices when talking on their wireless phones. Starting July 1, 2008, motorists over 18 could face fines starting at $20 for talking on wireless phones without using hands-free devices, while drivers under the age of 18 are prohibited from using a wireless phone even with a hands-free device while operating a motor vehicle.

LG recently launched the Venus, a true fashion cell phone. The LG Venus, also called LG VX8800 Venus, is the successor of the LG VX8500 Chocolate. The most important improvement is its unique LCD color screen. The resolution and number of colors have stayed the same, however the LG Venus incorporates dual front screens, of which the lower screen is a touch screen. The touch screen is also able to give vibration feedback, which make accessing the phone’s features a breeze.

LG has recently launched the LG Voyager, a clamshell cell phone with a large external touch screen. The LG Voyager boosts very nice features, like a full QWERTY keypad, HTML browser, GPS mapping and V Cast capabilities. V CAST is a 3G EV-DO network created by Verizon Wireless used for streaming of video clips and music. Some videos may be saved to the phone or a removable memory card, which cannot be read by other phones or computers. V CAST is one of the few mobile phone-based systems on which more advanced games, including those with 3-D graphics can be played. V CAST-capabilities which are supported by the LG Voyager include V CAST Mobile TV, V CAST Music and the ability to play .mp3, .wma and unprotected .aac files, and V CAST Video.
