Experts in mobile marketing say today’s unveiling of the T-Mobile G1, the highly-anticipated HTC-manufactured phone that uses Google’s Android technology, underscores the need for companies to ready their Web sites for effective handheld viewing. “T-Mobile G1 mobile phone represents another step toward complete Web access for people on the go,” said Chuck Sacco, a business leader in mobile application development and CEO and co-founder of PhindMe, a mobile technology company that provides organizations with easy-to-use tools to create mobile-tailored Web sites.

Namco Networks, a leading publisher and developer of mobile games and entertainment for mass-market casual gamers, announced the availability of the arcade classic PAC-MAN on the first Android powered mobile phone, announced by T-Mobile. When the cell phone launches, PAC-MAN mobile will be available to consumers in the Android Market at no charge, giving owners of the new T-Mobile G1 handset full access to the PAC-MAN game which usually retails for $9.99.

T-Mobile USA announced that the company has taken the first commercial step in the rollout of its third-generation (3G) wireless network by launching its UMTS / HSDPA network in New York City. T-Mobile plans to continue the rollout of its 3G network across major metropolitan markets through the year. By year’s end, T-Mobile expects its high-speed data network will be available in those cities where a majority of its subscribers currently use data services.

Power and Associates 2007 Wireless Customer Care Performance Study – Volume 2, marking the sixth consecutive period that T-Mobile holds the top spot. T-Mobile not only earned the highest ranking, but its overall customer care score was significantly higher than any other wireless carrier. T-Mobile is now the only wireless carrier that has swept a J.D. Power and Associates national wireless category for six reporting periods.
