Sprint announced the availability of new eco-friendly cell phone accessories, including the SOLIO Mono solar-powered charger and two new cell-phone carrying cases made from 100% recycled plastic water bottles. The SOLIO Mono Hybrid Charger allows cell-phone users to store power from the sun or electrical socket allowing customers to recharge their mobile phone anywhere, anytime. Additionally, both the SOLIO charger and the sport carrying cases from Nite Ize utilize a high percentage of post-consumer recycled paperboard packaging.

Sprint announced the immediate availability of the award-winning Samsung Instinct in a new, fashion-forward pink hue. Purchasing Instinct is now easier than ever with a limited time price drop to just $99.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. Within a few days after its release, Instinct became the fastest-selling EVDO handset in Sprint history. Instinct accounted for more than one-fifth of all Sprint handsets being sold during the first two weeks of availability and continued to sell at a record pace through the 2008 holiday season. Instinct users consume data at a rate of approximately five times more than any other Sprint device, especially music and other downloads, text messaging and GPS navigation.

A select group of BART riders is helping to launch a first-in-the-nation technological trial that will allow participants to walk up to any BART fare gate with a specially-equipped Sprint wireless phone and pay for their ride by tagging the cell phone on a reader located on top of the gate. Once through the gate, the 230 trial participants can hold their specifically-equipped Sprint cell phone up to certain Jack in the Box and Sprint “smart advertisements” on BART station walls and download either directions to the nearest Jack in the Box restaurant or content from Sprint.

Sprint and the National Football League (NFL) are giving Sprint wireless subscribers access to live NFL game coverage on their mobile phones. Coverage will include red zone drives and other key moments of all games televised on NFL Network in 2007. The coverage will be provided by NFL Network which will produce a three-hour studio-based show that will be streamed live on NFL.com and via wireless exclusively to Sprint subscribers. Highlights of that coverage include live game action when a team enters the red zone, during scheduled time slots at the :15 and :45 marks, and at other critical moments in a game.

Sprint announced new ways for its customers to take their games to go on their Sprint phones with the launch of the Sprint Arcade, a unique bundle of casual games. The Sprint Arcade, the first-ever subscription game channel in North America, allows customers to download multiple games powered by EA Mobile, the group within Electronic Arts Inc. that creates games for mobile phones, for one low monthly fee. The current list of Sprint Arcade mobile games includes Sudoku, Mini Golf, Mahjong, Hearts, Air Hockey and Blue Blocks, with more to be added.
