Sony-Ericsson announces the Zylo mobile phone which continues the iconic award-winning Sony Ericsson Walkman phone legacy. With more than 130 million Walkman phones sold worldwide, Sony-Ericsson now adds an affordable Walkman phone to its handset portfolio - without compromising on features. The Sony Ericsson Zylo phone features the human curvature design that is now consistent across the whole Sony Ericsson portfolio. Beautiful and timeless human curvature also incorporates an ergonomic keypad which makes the handset easy to use. The new Sony Ericsson Zylo Walkman phone will be available in selected markets early Q3.

The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is the place for handset manufacturers to present themselves to the international press. And next to the creative marketing talk, which sounds nice, we of course go mostly for the new mobile devices, as those are pumped up and form an important part of the manufacturer’s image. Although Sony-Ericsson seems to be focusing less on hardware, and instead teaching the consumer more to experience the different services that Sony-Ericsson has to offer, but we still need a Sony-Ericsson smartphone. The Sony-Ericsson Vivaz Pro Smartphone received an official status during the MWC 2010. It is a business version of the Sony-Ericsson Vivaz handset.

Manufacturer Sony-Ericsson was also present during the Mobile World Congress. Only Sony-Ericsson’s booth was not really remarkable. There was little attention for the Sony Ericsson brand; you could walk right by it without noticing it. We were able to count the name Sony Ericsson only twice on the booth. This is a strange choice made by the designer of this booth. Of course it all depends on the product portfolio that Sony-Ericsson presented, which was quite a weighty presentation. No less than Sir Howard String, CEO of Sony, expressed that Sony is far but finished with Sony Ericsson…

Sony-Ericsson announces its vision for the future of mobile entertainment - ‘Co-creation’ - using the launch of new online platform Creations. Co-creation focuses on facilitating the evolving needs of consumers, content publishers and developers, creating a community and a movement where they come together to personalise, share and continuously evolve and co-create mobile content. It is an open mobile platform accessible using a range of mobile handsets, as well as on the desktop PC.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro adds a QWERTY keyboard to the touch screen offering, delivering a user experience optimised for messaging and entertainment. The full QWERTY keyboard allows consumers to communicate quickly and efficiently via email, SMS or social networking updates. Just like flagship phone Sony Ericsson Vivaz, announced in January, Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro allows consumers to produce and broadcast their best experiences in HD video.
