SNAP Mobile, Nokia's end-to end solution for connected mobile gaming in Java technology, has today announced its latest Software Development Kit (SDK 2.0). After several years of market deployment and continuous technology development based on developer feedback, the SNAP Mobile SDK 2.0 has evolved to make game development even more intuitive with a simpler API, faster emulation and testing tools. The SDK is free of charge and available through Forum Nokia, the largest mobile development community worldwide with 3.4 million registered members.

Microsoft introduced two new products to help photographers manage their digital photos in a new way using location data, a process known as geotagging. Geotagging is an new way to organize your digital photos that was previously available only to those with technical expertise. Microsoft Software makes geotagging available for all photographers and can be downloaded for free at the Microsoft Website. Microsoft also released Expression Media 2, which is part of the Expression family of products for creative professionals. It's designed to help reduce the amount of time required by photographers to manage and organize large collections of photos and other digital media, and it includes geotagging functionality.

Het aantal downloads van de Facebook applicatie voor BlackBerry smartphones heeft de één miljoen overstegen. Dat meldt Research In Motion (RIM). De BlackBerry softwareapplicatie biedt snelle en eenvoudige toegang tot de populaire netwerksite Facebook. De applicatie maakt hierbij gebruik van de pushgebaseerde BlackBerry systeem architectuur en van het Facebook platform. RIM lanceerde de applicatie tijdens de CTIA Wireless IT and Entertainment-show. Sinds de initiële lancering heeft RIM de Facebook-applicatie voor BlackBerry-smartphones beschikbaar gemaakt in het Frans, Duits en Spaans. De softwareapplicatie is gratis te downloaden.

Apple previewed its iPhone 2.0 software, scheduled for release this June, and announced the immediate availability of a beta release of the software to selected developers and enterprise customers. The Apple iPhone 2 software beta release includes both the iPhone Software Development Kit (SDK) as well as new enterprise features such as support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync to provide secure, over-the-air push email, contacts and calendars as well as remote wipe, and the addition of Cisco IPsec VPN for encrypted access to private corporate networks.
