Navigon AG, innovator in the navigation market, announce the availability of a free update for its North American version of the MobileNavigator for the iPhone. The free update adds a couple of new features and enhancements to the MobileNavigator. Navigon’s route planning function known from the companies PND line enables users to plan a route with different destinations ahead of time. Taking advantage of the iPhone’s own functionalities, a call POI function allows to directly call the number of a POI such as a restaurant or hotel by simply clicking on the number. It is even possible to save the number to the user’s contacts.

Is the end of Windows Mobile in sight? That would be quite a strong statement at the offset. However, when we look at the sales figures that Windows Mobile smartphones achieve compared to the competition, things do not seem to be looking up for Microsoft. According to research, market growth is about 13%, while smartphone sales figures with the Windows Mobile operating system have plummeted. There are at least 20% less smartphones with the Windows Mobile operating system the market, while this is obviously a growing market. This is a result that generally speaking would make any healthy entrepreneur undertake measures.

As an enthusiastic consumer you have just figured out that the next cell phone that you will purchase should come equipped with Google Android. So now you decide to leave your lazy internet chair to go and have a look in the telecom shop around the corner. Just by poking around, you already noticed that Android is not just Android, but that there’s Google Android 2.0, Android 1.5, or was it Android 1.6?
