LG Optimus G review | Digital Camera
LG Optimus G digital camera
LG Optimus camera functions
The LG Optimus G has a 13 megapixel (CMOS sensor) digital camera with LED flash. There is a second 1.3 megapixel camera on the front of the Android smartphone, for video calling or taking self-portraits. LG has extended the camera software quite a bit, with the possibility of adjusting the white balance, brightness, and ISO, and the camera also has autofocus. A number of options were also added such as Cheese shutter, HDR, Panorama, and Continuous shot. Geotagging is also possible on the LG Optimus G. You can adjust different color effects, including Mono, Sepia, and Negative.

LG Optimus G’s 13-megapixel camera
The Optimus G’s 13-megapixel camera with a maximum resolution of 4208 x 3120 pixels lives up to all expectations. It is fairly easy to shoot good photos with the LG Optimus G, and the autofocus works well. Especially considering the price of the phone, (which is currently less than €400), the camera is quite good. It is difficult to shoot with the LG Optimus G in low-light conditions, but this is no different from any other phone camera. The autofocus can be set to any point by clicking the desired point on the touch screen.
LG Optimus G videos
Shooting Full HD with the LG Optimus G
As we can expect from a smartphone in this segment, the LG Optimus G can also take videos in Full HD quality. Although the LG Optimus G has some trouble with shooting in dark circumstances, in sufficient light the videos are very good. A disadvantage of the recorded videos is the sound, as this does not live up to expectations. Especially considering that the G Optimus G’s videos are very good, the sound does not correspond to the videos made. A fun addition is Live Effect, which allows you to choose different effects that you can apply to faces.
LG Optimus G photo sharing
Sharing photos and videos with the Optimus G
Considering that the LG Optimus G does not have an entrance for a microSD card, the photos and videos cannot be shared simply by exchanging an SD card. It is possible to share files via the FileShare app, which uses WiFi. Additionally it is possible to connect the LG Optimus G to the computer or laptop via a USB cable, so that you can quickly and easily share all the files you want. Of course, photos and videos can also be shared through different social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and many more.
