HTC One SV camera functions

The HTC One SV has a 5-megapixel (F2.0 28mm lens) digital camera with autofocus and an LED flash. There is a second 1.6-megapixel camera on the front of the smartphone for video calling or self-portraits. Via the HTC camera app, there are many options available for the 5-megapixel front camera, including different filter effects, an HDR function, panorama-shots and continuous shooting, with which you can shoot several photos per second. It is also possible to take photos while recording video by means of HTC VideoPic.

5 megapixel camera van the HTC One SV

The 5-megapixel camera on this phone, with a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, is a bit disappointing, considering that the HTC One S, which is currently for sale for around the same price, has an 8MP-camera and a higher resolution screen. The image quality of the 5-megapixel camera is fair, but in terms of details, there is still a lot of room for improvement. On the smartphone’s relatively low resolution screen the photos look pretty good, but when we look at the photos on a higher resolution screen, the quality of the images is disappointing.

Recording Full HD with the HTC One SV

The possibility of shooting video recordings in Full HD is a welcome addition after the disappointing photo camera of the HTC One SV. While recording, the details of the videos are a bit disappointing. There are different functions available during recording, including taking photos and zooming in, although the latter is not recommended in order to preserve video quality. A nice surprise is the possibility of recording in Slow Motion, which we have not seen very much in smartphones in this segment.

Sharing photos and Videos with the One SV

Photos and videos are automatically saved on the phone’s internal memory. If a microSD card is used, all multimedia can also be saved on it, which is easy to set up in the phone. You can share the photos and videos instantly via social media such as Facebook, Flickr, Picasa or YouTube with the HTC One SV. If you want to exchange files with another phone, it is possible via Bluetooth or WiFi. Transferring multimedia files to a computer or laptop is also very fast and simple via the USB cable that comes included.
