Sony Xperia T review | Digital Camera
Sony Xperia T camera
Sony Xperia T digital camera
Sony is known for its good digital cameras. Together with Samsung, it is the only smartphone manufacturer that also makes digital compact cameras and SLR cameras. The acquired knowledge is applied to the camera integrated in the Xperia smartphone. The Sony Xperia T has a 13 megapixel camera. Zooming in is possible with the 16x digital zoom. Smartphones are unfortunately not (yet) equipped with an optical zoom, which means that the image quality decreases when zooming in. Nevertheless, the 16x zoom is one of the most extended zooms that are available on a smartphone. Another camera is found on the front of the Xperia T, and this 1.3 megapixel camera is ideal for taking self-portraits.
Shooting with the Sony Xperia T
Taking photos with the Sony Xperia T
While shooting with the Sony Xperia T, right away you notice that the resolution decreases when you shoot in a 16:9 ratio. You can only use the full 13 megapixels in a 4:3 ratio; otherwise the resolution decreases to a maximum of 10 megapixels. However, this is still more than enough for taking nice, detailed photographs. The camera has a reasonable amount of settings, think of red eye reduction and laugh detection. You can even take panorama photos and geotag photos. A great advantage is the Quick Capture technology, which allows you to shoot photos quickly, even when the Xperia phone is locked. The LED flash is more than sufficient, despite a more powerful flash found in competing smartphones.
Shooting videos with the Sony Xperia T
Full HD video & front-camera
Next to the 13 megapixel digital camera function, the Sony Xperia T also has a 1080p HD video function. By pushing the video button in the camera application, you can immediately start a video recording. The Xperia T has several video settings, such as a focus mode, brightness, white balance, and image stabilization. You can also record video with continuous autofocus. The images are stable and of good quality with realistic colors. The digital zoom can also be used in the video mode, although the camera does zoom in rather quickly, so that it quickly becomes shaky. The film mode is equipped with a photo light, which is easy to switch on. There are also 6 scene modes available. In the video mode, it is easy to switch to the front-camera. With the front-camera videos can be recorded in 720p HD quality. This video camera is ideal for video calling.
Sharing files with the Sony smartphone
Sharing pictures and videos
The Xperia T has internal memory of 16GB, and this memory is extendable with a microSD memory card. There are various possibilities for sharing photos and videos with friends and family. The Xperia T has Bluetooth as well as WiFi, with all of its advantages, such as sharing photos via social media networks. Additionally, the Sony smartphone has NFC technology (Near Field Communication). By holding the phone next to another NFC-compatible smartphone, it is easy to exchange files. DLNA support is also offered to connect the Xperia phone with other media devices. The Sony phone also has Xperia Link, to connect with the internet from a tablet or PC, via the network connection on your phone. There are thus ample possibilities.
