Nokia Lumia 900 digital camera
Nokia 900 features a 8MP camera
The Nokia Lumia 900 has an 8 megapixel digital camera with a Carl Zeiss Tessar lens and a double LED flash. There is also a 1 megapixel camera on the front, in order to make self-portraits and video calls. Additionally, it is possible to geo-tag the photos with the Nokia Lumia 900. However, there is no tile for the digital camera application found on the start screen. You can always push the button on the right side of the phone to start up the camera application. You can also place the digital camera tile on the start screen via applications.

Shooting photos with the Nokia 900
The Nokia Lumia 900 is equipped with a 3x digital zoom. Unfortunately, there is no optical zoom available, so that the use of the zoom function diminishes image quality. While shooting, what you see on the display is not the same as the end result. This is mostly advantageous…. When you review the photos on the Nokia 900’s screen, and then on a computer screen, the photos look better than they appeared on the phone. The Nokia Lumia 900 has a fairly true-to-life color representation. The camera has difficulty capturing moving objects in focus.

Nokia Lumia 900 software update
There is also a separate software update available by Nokia, named Camera Extras. This gives access to many extra photo functions, such as Smart Group Shot, Action Shot, Self-Timer and Panorama. This software upgrade has been available since July of 2012 for all Lumia smartphones. The new application can be downloaded for free via the Nokia App Store. You can edit your photos with Creative Studio and add any special effects. The so-called Face Warps are available, with which you can create funny faces, with a great big nose, stretched-out mouth or a twisted face.
Nokia Lumia 900 video features
Recording HD videos with the Nokia Lumia 900
Next to the 8 megapixel digital camera function, the Nokia Lumia 900 also has an HD video function. You can immediately start recording video by pushing the video button while in the camera application. As soon as the video recording starts, the recording time is shown on the display. This way, you never have to wonder whether you are still recording. The videos are of good quality with true-to-life colors and sharp images.
Sharing Nokia Lumia 900 photos
Sharing Photos and Videos with the Nokia 900
Unfortunately the Nokia Lumia 900 has not been equipped with Bluetooth for transferring photos and videos from the smartphone to another device that supports Bluetooth, such as a PC. This is a remarkable lack, it works a bit cumbersome now. You can transfer the photos in full resolution to a PC via Microsoft Zune, which can be downloaded from the Zune website. Sharing photos can be done via Microsoft SkyDrive, unfortunately the resolution will be reduced this way. In addition, you can share photos via messages.
