Nokia Lumia 900 People Hub
The Windows Phone 7.5 was introduced together with the slogan ´put people first´. In the Nokia Lumia 900, this takes a unique form with the People Hub. This application actually replaces the traditional contact list and does not only show simple contact information, but also it allows you to be in constant contact with your friends and family. Everything is linked together: contact information, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Windows Live. You can easily view all photos that your contact has placed on one of these social media sites. That is not all; your full contact history is also shown in the list. Whether this was via phone, a text message, an email, or via social media websites such as Facebook, everything is brought together in one unique and almost addictive form.

Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone
The Nokia Lumia 900’s start screen displays tile icons for Messages, E-mail, Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, Nokia Music, Internet Explorer, Xbox Live games, Music & videos and the Marketplace for Apps. There is an arrow visible on the right side, and by clicking on it, you get a list of all applications, in alphabetical order. There is also a search function available, in order to find a specific application even faster. If you like, you can simply place the applications on your start screen, and they usually appear on the bottom, but by holding down the tile icon, you can move it to any place on the start screen. While working with the Nokia Lumia 900, it is apparent that you can reach the desired application within a couple of clicks. All menu items can be accessed remarkably quickly and easily.

Internet Explorer on the Nokia Lumia 900
At first, the Nokia Lumia 900 phone was only introduced onto the U.S. market, but shortly the Nokia 900 became available worldwide. Differences between the American and European versions are mostly found in the internet speed. The American Nokia Lumia 900 is equipped with LTE, so that it can achieve the enormous 4G internet speeds. In Europe, the Nokia 900 offers DC-HSPA support, for internet speeds up to 42,2 Mbps. The Nokia Lumia 900 has a Microsoft mobile internet browser: Internet Explorer 9 in combination with the Bing search engine. The internet application works well, pages are displayed well. There is no Flash support, but there is support for HTML5. The Bing search engine is available at the push of a button, but unfortunately, Bing does not offer voice activated searching yet.
Nokia Lumia 900 applications
Downloading Nokia Lumia 900 apps
Many different apps can be downloaded for the Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone Mango smartphone. There are two App Stores available via the start screen, one by Nokia, and one by Microsoft. The tile 'Amazing apps' leads to the Nokia app store, where 'local apps', are differentiated from 'recommended apps', 'top games' and 'on sale'. There is a separate button available named 'Surprise me'. By clicking this and shaking the phone back and forth, the phone selects an app that you can then download. 'Marketplace' is Microsoft’s app store. This application database offers considerably more apps than the Nokia store. You can search the general app database, you can also search separately for games, and there is a separate Nokia Collection included as well. If you cannot find a certain app, no worries, as there is also a search function available.
