Samsung Galaxy S3 digital camera
Samsung Galaxy S3 8MP camera
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has an improved, 8 megapixel digital camera. With the Samsung Galaxy S3, it is possible to start the camera application directly from standby mode, so that you can start shooting photos and videos within a second. Thanks to the powerful quad-core processor, the Samsung Galaxy S3’s camera reacts extremely fast, so that there is no shutter lag to speak of. Unique for a smartphone. Additionally, the lit sensor on the back contributes to a higher image quality, especially in bad lighting conditions, the Samsung Galaxy S3’s camera performs much better.

There is a variety of new photo functions available. The Samsung Galaxy S3 is equipped with a Burst Shot mode. In this mode, the Galaxy S3 shoots a maximum of 20 consecutive photos. With the Best Photo function, the Samsung Galaxy S3 automatically takes eight consecutive photos and chooses the best one for you. These are fun, valuable additions. Shooting self-portraits with the Galaxy S3
The Samsung Galaxy S3 offers, just like its predecessor, a 4x digital zoom lens, by ‘pinching’ the display, you automatically zoom in. To enhance image quality, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has an image stabilization function, via the photo settings menu you can turn on the 'Anti-shake' function, in order to counteract camera shake. This menu also has 13 different scene modes, as well as 3 different color effects. Additionally, you can adjust the flash settings. With the Galaxy S3, just like with the Galaxy S2, you can easily take self-portraits, thanks to the 1.9 megapixel camera on the front. With one tap on the screen, the camera is activated on the front, so that you can see how the photo will look.

Samsung Galaxy S3 image quality
There is not much to be said about the Galaxy S3’s image quality. Everyone is amazed by the high quality photos and videos. This is partially thanks to the crystal clear Super HD Amoled display, which make the photos look even better. The photos even look good on the PC. The camera can focus quickly and the focal point is easy to change by tapping your finger on the display. The Samsung Galaxy S3 does struggle a bit to capture depth and detail, but then again it is a smartphone. Settings such as brightness, white balance, ISO and autofocus are easy to adjust via the photo settings menu. You can also select a set of five fast keys for the settings that you adjust most frequently.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Full HD video
Recording videos with the Galaxy S3
The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a 1080p Full HD video function with an improved video and audio quality. The auto focus is fine; the Samsung Galaxy S3 can effortlessly follow and record moving subjects. Thanks to the 'touch to focus' function, you only have to tap the screen to change the focal point, so that a substantially improved focus/depth is achieved, a function that was not available previously on a smartphone. There is also the possibility of taking a 1920x1080-pixel photo while shooting a video. The Samsung Galaxy S3’s image stabilization also works in video mode, and this is the first time. The difference is very clear, the Anti-Shake reduction works great. With the Samsung Galaxy S3, it is very simple to share videos immediately with friends and family.
Samsung Galaxy S3 S Beam
Sharing photos with the Samsung Galaxy S3
You can easily share the photos and videos taken with the Samsung Galaxy S3 with friends and family. A new function on the Galaxy S3 is S Beam. By placing two Galaxy S3 smartphones across from each other, you can send photos from one smartphone to the other. Unfortunately, we were not able to test this function, as we did not have a second Galaxy S3. The Samsung Galaxy S3 also has a Buddy Photo Share function. The digital camera is able to recognize faces, and sorts your photos according to your group profiles. That way, you can easily pull up all the photos of one person.
