Samsung Galaxy S3 speech recognition

Apple was the first manufacturer that integrated a speech recognition function called Siri. With the Galaxy S3, Samsung has come up with a similar function, named S Voice. Speech recognition is still in its infancy and will undoubtedly be developed further in the coming years, but the idea is good. You say to the phone: 'Set alarm' and the Galaxy S3 answers back with 'What time?' As soon as you name a time, the Galaxy S3 asks for a confirmation after which the alarm is saved.

4.8" HD Super AMOLED screen

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is equipped with a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED screen. The AMOLED screen technology that Samsung has already been using for a number of years belongs to the best screens that are currently available. The Galaxy S3’s screen is the first HD screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, for an extremely clear and detailed image reproduction. The scratch-resistant screen is made of super strong Corning Gorilla Glass 2 that is also very energy-efficient.

Samsung Galaxy S3 multimedia functions

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is full of multimedia functions and thanks to the super powerful processor, multi-tasking is no problem for the Samsung Galaxy S3. You can watch a Full HD video while typing a text message. Unnecessary? Once you have used it, it appears to be very handy. The video is shown in a small video frame, you can drag it anywhere, and by clicking on the video, it is played in full screen. This all happens without the slightest hitch.

Downloading Apps onto the Galaxy S3

Since the Galaxy S3 smartphone runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, you can download all the applications form the Play Store (previously the Android Market). Additionally, Samsung has its own app database, named Samsung Apps. By means of these apps, you can easily personalize the phone, and thanks to its powerful processor, the apps are downloaded and available in no time. The Samsung Go app comes pre-installed for a rich, multimedia experience.

In the predecessor, the Galaxy S2, the battery life was the biggest disadvantage. Samsung has improved this for the Galaxy S3, as the Samsung Galaxy S3’s 2100mAh battery has greater capacity compared with the 1650 mAh battery of the Galaxy S2. This allows you to take your smartphone out for at least one full day, even when using it intensively. Charging the battery also takes less time, so that you can quickly use the Galaxy S3 again.

Galaxy S3 memory & SIM card

The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with 16GB of internal memory, and this can be extended with a microSDHC card. In the Galaxy S2, it was necessary to switch off the phone and take out the battery before you could get to the memory card, but in the Galaxy S3, this has been improved. The microSDHC memory card is no longer found underneath the battery, so that you can get to it immediately. If you want to step up from the Galaxy S2 to the Galaxy S3, you must consider that the Galaxy S3 uses a mini SIM card, instead of the regular SIM card.
