Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - Google Services

On the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the diverse Google Services are of course included. By entering your Google account details, your agenda-items, contacts and e-mail messages are loaded automatically. That is very handy. Additionally, a Google Account gives you access to the Android Market, the Android Platform’s application store where many free and paid applications can be found. The Android Market always highlights a couple of applications, and then you can search through Applications or Games for whatever suits you. The different categories ensure that everything is easy to find. The third tab My Apps show the installed applications and you can also update or remove applications here.

Sony Ericsson Arc - YouTube & Google Maps

Next to the services described above, YouTube is also found in the menu. As mentioned earlier, the clearer screen is very fine for watching videos and this makes YouTube extra attractive. Fun trailers or funny videos are all accessible on the go. The latest beautiful Google-service is Google Maps, including navigation. Quickly find a restaurant in the neighborhood, read the information and then with one push of the button, navigate to it. What makes Google Maps Navigation so practical is the search function that can not only search according to street or postal code, but also business name or something more specific like a restaurant or casino, for example. With this application, the Sony Ericsson is not only a versatile Smartphone, but also a full navigation system.

Stand-by time of the smartphone

The Sony Ericsson Xperia is supplied with a 3.7V 1500mAh Lithium Ion battery. According to the specifications, the maximum stand-by time is 430 hours and the maximum talk time is 8 hours. In practice, we enjoyed several days with a full battery, while we shot photos and listened to music. If you are going to call and use the internet a lot, then the battery is noticeably empty faster. However, this is a problem for all Smartphones. The specifications are not different for any of them, it is a capacity problem.

Smartphone memory extendable

The standard internal memory is only 512 MB. With the beautiful screen, you want to have enough multimedia and the internal memory is clearly not sufficient for that. Luckily, this Sony Ericsson cell phone’s memory can be extended with a microSD/SDHC memory card. This Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc supports these memory cards up to a maximum of 32GB. Then you will be able to save all your favorite films and you will not have to hold back in shooting videos in HD resolution.
