B y filling out your Google account information, next to all your data, you also have direct access to the Android Market. This application market for the Android operating system is extensive and developers are actively offering the users fun content. This is an important plus for the Android platform. The HTC Desire HD also has the Google Maps application which has a fully (spoken) navigation function. The HTC Desire HD is thus a full navigation system, which is very easy to operate thanks to the large screen. Upon approaching the destination, the view switches to Streetview, so that the destination is actually shown.

With an 8.0 megapixel digital camera, the possibility of shooting video in HD quality, and a lot of available content, it is of course important that there is enough memory available. The HTC Desire HD has an internal memory of 1.5GB. You can get quite a ways with that in the beginning, but you will quickly need more storage. Luckily the memory can be extended with a microSD/SDHC memory card. The HTC Desire HD smartphone supports these memory cards up to a maximum of 32GB. The memory card is placed under the flap on the bottom, where the sim card is also found.

Stand-by time of the HTC Desire HD
The HTC Desire HD comes with a 1230mAh 3.7V Lithium Ion battery. According to the specifications, this means a maximum stand-by time of 420 hours and a maximum talk-time of more than 9 hours. With normal use, a stand-by time of two days is realistic, but most users will have to recharge this HTC cell phone daily, making a car charger or an extra battery a welcome addition. Care has to be taken with the battery flap, it is a small flap on the side, but as soon as it opens, the phone switches off, as the flap holds the battery in place.
