Samsung Wave review | Multimedia & Internet
Samsung Wave multimedia smartphone
Music and Video on the Samsung Wave
All the imaginable multimedia applications can be used on the Samsung Wave. The Music Player, the Video Player, and the FM Radio are found in the menu. The screen is at its best for playing back video. The built-in speaker is of good quality and there is a 3.5mm connection on top of the phone, where you can connect almost any headset. Additionally, the phone comes included with applications such as Facebook, Twitter, MSN, etc. This makes the Samsung Wave have more than enough options for entertainment on the go and maintaining social networks.

Internet & E-mail on the Samsung Wave
In the email application, you can choose Mail for Exchange, Google, Yahoo, Hotmail, and others. This makes it very easy to install your e-mail. The full on-screen QWERTY-keyboard is easy to use, and when the phone is tilted, the keyboard turns with it to create more room. The Internet browser works fairly smoothly, with Wi-Fi and HSDPA. Flash websites, however, were a problem. The background color was loaded and that was it. That is too bad, because with a new operating system, you could distinguish yourself with these details.
Samsung Wave battery
Stand-by time of the Samsung Wave
The battery that comes with Samsung Wave S8500 is a 3.7V 1500mAh battery. According to the specifications, this should ensure a maximum stand-by time of 550 hours and a maximum talk time of 7 hours. This is pretty good, but of course it depends on how much you use it. If you listen to music all day and take a lot of photos, the battery can run out pretty fast.
Samsung Wave memory
Samsung Wave supports microSDHC memory
The Samsung Wave’s standard memory is 2GB. This is a pretty good amount for an internal memory, so that you can at least save a few photos and some other files. Next to the internal memory, you can extend the memory with a microSD/SDHC with a maximum of 32GB. It is too bad that the memory card is placed underneath the battery. This means you have to switch off the phone in order to replace the memory card.
