Motorola Milestone review | Multimedia & Navigation
Motorola Milestone multimedia phone
Music, photo and video
Photo, video and music files are found in the Android operating system’s menu. When you select music, you will see the standard Android application, in which you can select artists, albums, tracks or play lists. Specific music is easy to find this way, and this is also the case for videos and photos that are saved on the Motorola Milestone. The built-in speaker can be used to play music. The sound is pretty good if the volume is not set too high. By using the headphones that come included, you can get better quality to listen to your music. Any other headset with a 3.5mm connection is also supported.
Motorola Milestone Internet functions
Android Internet browser
The Android Platform’s Internet browser is always fast, user-friendly and good. This combined with the Motorola Milestone’s large touch screen, makes it an ideal smartphone to surf the net with. It is easy to zoom in by double clicking or moving your fingers away from each other. Entering text can be done with a virtual keyboard on the screen or an extendable keyboard. I personally did not use the extending keyboard very much, but it can be very handy sometimes. The display is good, regardless of the type of website being shown. Unfortunately flash is not yet supported by the browser.

Google mail and YouTube
The Motorola Milestone is very easy to use for people with a Google Account. Just fill out your username and password, and all your contacts, agenda items and e-mail messages are loaded. There is also immediate access to the Android Market where lots of fun content can be downloaded. Next to Google synchronization, there is also a solution for Microsoft Exchange users. Of course all other e-mail providers can be set up as well, and often the settings are loaded automatically. Next to a good coordination with a Google account, Google applications such as Maps and YouTube have been pre-installed, and can be found in the menu.
Motorola Milestone navigation
Google Maps navigation
In the United States, the Motorola Milestone also included the new Google Maps Navigation. This makes paying for navigation software unnecessary and turns an Android phone into a full navigation system. Beta navigation also became available for the European user later on. Google Maps Navigation software is neat and clear. It is expected that increasing functionality will be added in the future. A fun addition is the switch to Streetview when reaching the destination.
