Motorola Milestone smartphone review
Motorola Milestone menu
The actual menu button is found at the bottom of each start screen. We can click this to turn it on or move it upwards to get to the main menu. The Motorola Milestone menu is made up of a long list of all the options and applications that are available. Everything that is installed appears in the main menu, in alphabetical order. There is little of Motorola to be found, it is a pretty ‘standard’ Android interface. As soon as the smartphone is tilted, the screen turns with it, and of course this also occurs when you fold out the keyboard.

5 Megapixel digital camera
Taking pictures is also possible with the Motorola Milestone, thanks to the integrated 5.0 Megapixel digital camera. The camera application is started up with the record key in the top right corner, or via the menu with the quick camera button. When you use the camera often, you can easily make a quick link on one of the main screens by holding down the function in the menu and then letting go in the desired location. Starting up the camera application takes about three seconds, so patience is necessary.

Shooting photos with the Motorola Milestone
As soon the application has started up, pretty much the whole screen is used as a viewfinder, there is only a small tab with icons found on the right and left sides. The current settings are indicated on the left, as well as the amount of photos that can still be taken. This way you can always see where you are at and if you have the right settings. There are some quick settings to the left, so that you can add effects, activate the flash and select the scene mode. For further settings such as time display and resolution usage, the settings key under the screen is used. As most settings are found on the screen, they are easy to adjust.

You can also use the quick button on the upper right to shoot photos. By holding down the button a bit, you can focus, and if you push it down, the image will be captured. Focusing takes about two seconds, and then you see the text ‘processing’ on the screen. You have to wait a bit before you move, otherwise the photo will be unsuccessful. You think that the image has already been captured, but that is not always the case. The photo quality is pretty good when lighting conditions are favorable. If it is a bit too dark, it becomes impossible to take a sharp photo. You cannot adjust the ISO-values to compensate, only the flash will be of use in some circumstances.
