Apple iPad Wi-Fi
Apple iPad 64GB, 32GB and 16GB version
There are three types of iPad Wi-Fi versions available, the difference is in the storage capacity. You will have to guess at how much storage capacity you will personally need. Whoever has a large collection of music and video (clips), and will want to use them frequently on the iPad, is advised to choose the 32GB version and the 64GB is for the demanding, large-scale consumer. We think that the iPad 16GB will offer sufficient capacity for most users.
Apple iPad Apps
Download Apps on the Apple iPad
Of course we are curious about the Apps that are available for the iPad. This is still a bit of a disappointment right now, as there are iPad Apps, but by far not as many as the amount that can be downloaded via iTunes for the iPhone. You can also use the iPhone applications for the iPad, but frankly you lose a bit of image quality. The resolution is increased artificially, which leaves its traces. No, better wait for the growing supply of iPad Apps. Some are free, but others, as it appears right now, are more expensive than the average iPhone App. How these prices will develop is still up in the air. But it‘s clear that it will become interesting for developers.
Apple iPad OS 3.2
Apple iPad and iTunes
Unfortunately, at this moment, we cannot combine the U.S. iPad with our Dutch account. You can transfer the Apps that you acquired earlier over to the iPad via the desktop, but if you want to download from iTunes, you will have to start up a U.S. iTunes account. Tips about this can be found repeatedly on the Internet. The Apple iPad’s OS is a 3.2, which is the most recent version. Of course we are waiting for OS 4.0, but this will only come out in the fall for the iPad. It is expected that iPhone owners will be able to have OS 4.0 this summer. The first iPhone OS 4.0 preview promises a lot of great things!
Apple iPad Apps
Apple iPad and App Store
Applications that we know from the iPhone come included with the Apple iPad. Just to list a few: YouTube, Safari, Mail, Notes, Contacts, Agenda, etc. Via the App Store you can look for Apps that were especially developed for the iPad. Searching takes a little getting used to, as Apple is aiming for a quite general layout of the iPad applications. The layout is a bit less specific and the labels often refer to all categories. It is expected that with the growth of the amount of iPad Apps, a similar layout to that of the iPhone Apps will be used.
Apple iPad applications
Y ou can, of course, synchronize the standard iPhone Apps that you downloaded (for free) from iTunes with the iPad. The result of the extra large display is not so bad in many cases. Some applications clearly lose image quality, while others can be displayed without a problem in the enlarged display. The iPad is also especially good for showing a portfolio of photos. The presentation in combination with the iPad is great and runs nice and smooth and fast. Starting up happens in no time, and the ease with which you can bring GBs of photo material with you to a client, family or friends is great.
