LG GW620 review | Android phone
LG GW620 Android software
Download applications via the Android Market
Of course the LG Android GW620 smartphone offers access to the Android Market. This Google Market is an application store similar to Apple’s App Store and Microsoft Windows Mobile’s Windows Marketplace. The Android Market has a lot of content, where users can download diverse, fun, free as well as paid programs and games. Think of file manager, fun themes, tele text, applications and much more. This way you can keep adding things to your cell phone to make it personalized and something new every time.
LG GW620 Internet functions
HSDPA and Wi-Fi internet support
With HSDPA as well as Wi-Fi support, all connections and fast surfing are possible. The LG GW620 is especially equipped for that. The internet sites are loaded quickly and shown clearly. Thanks to the Google software, working with Gmail is optimal, but there are also programs present for working with Exchange, for example. Although I found that my Google E-mail did not always load very quickly. The complete keyboard works well and the keys are big, and it includes the number keys, so that you don’t have to use a combination of keys to enter numbers. It is too bad, however, that when the phone is lying down you don’t get a virtual keyboard, so you always have to slide the phone open. Also we found it to react extremely slowly while typing; the letters appear a lot later.

LG GW620 battery
Stand-by time of the LG GW620 handset
The LG GW620 includes a 3.7V 1500mAh Lithium Ion battery. According to the specifications, the battery has a maximum stand-by time of 600 hours and a maximum talk-time of 8.1 hours. Of course this is not achievable with normal use. Especially while using the internet, GPS and multimedia, the battery will be emptied within 2 days. More than three days of stand-by time is usually not realistic. This seems really short, but this is often the case with comparable phones. The low energy character of a phone is slowly improving, but we expect that in terms of stand-by time this should be making progress.
LG GW620 memory
LG GW620 memory card support
The LG GW620's internal memory only has 150 MB. Compared with other cell phones from the same segment, this is not much. You can take photos and save a few ringtones, but then the memory is already full. It is possible, however, to extend the memory with a microSD/SDHC flash memory card. The LG GW620 Android phone supports these memory cards to a maximum of 32 GB. As soon as the phone is connected to the computer, you can use the memory card as a flash-drive. This makes it easy to move files from and to the computer.
