Windows Mobile menu

T he main menu can be approached in two different ways: either through the launch bar at the top, or through the centre button below the screen. If we use the launch bar, we will find the new Windows Mobile menu. The honeycomb structure is found with all the items. However, if we use the menu button below the screen, we enter a very different menu; the well-known Samsung menu. Naturally, all items can also be found here. The structure of the Samsung menu is similar to that of a standard mobile phone; somewhat simpler, you could say.

Windows Mobile is also very extensive when it comes to multimedia applications. The standard installed Windows Media Player allows you to enjoy your music and movies anywhere and at any time. The player is quite fast, and supports all formats. Also DivX files, so while on the move, you can still watch movies. Thanks to the large screen, the reproduction is also very good. The built-in speakers are acceptable, although an Armani headset is also included with the Samsung B7620. The Samsung menu features a separate tab page with multimedia, containing games, a video editing program and a voice recorder.

5 megapixel digital camera application

The camera shortcut is placed on the right side of the Samsung Armani 2. The application starts by holding this button down for a moment. It has to be said the startup is not particularly fast, and you will most likely also have to deactivate the key lock. This is also done by pressing down a button on the right side of the phone. However, there are times when deactivation is not carried out immediately, and it would have been more convenient to have a slide key for this, like we come across more often lately. As for now, you sometimes don't press the button long enough or you press again too quickly, which will then activate the key lock again.

Taking pictures with the Samsung Armani

While shooting, almost the entire screen is used as a viewfinder, except for two edges on the sides. It's easy to frame a subject, however, focusing takes a few seconds. In addition, the screen turns black for a few seconds after taking a picture, and if you press the shutter release too eagerly, the pictures don't always turn out sharp. I suppose it's just a matter of getting used to, and if you put in some effort, you’ll certainly be able to take nice pictures with this Samsung B7620 smartphone.

Giorgio Armani Samsung camera settings

The bars on the sides of the viewfinder are filled with icons for the various settings. This way, the scene mode, the flash, the brightness and the resolution can all be adjusted without having to go into the menu. If you want to adjust more specific settings, such as effects, GPS-tag, and ISO values, you will have to go to the 'extra options' displayed as an icon on the side bar. This requires entering a separate menu.
