8 Megapixel digital camera
The integrated digital camera of the Samsung i8910 HD features a 8.0 megapixels of resolution. It allows you to take pictures up to a maximum resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. Besides the picture quality, Samsung puts the focus on the video function by adding HD to the product name. The camera application can be activated by the shortcut key on the side of the phone or by selecting the camera in the menu. Start-up is smooth, enabling you to quickly start shooting. Once set to camera, you will find icon bars on both sides next of the viewfinder for the shooting settings.

The camera application is straightforward and well-arranged, thanks to the presence of all major photography settings during shooting. Not only the flash and shooting mode, but also scene mode, resolution, exposure values and modes such as panorama and smile shot can be set by pressing the button once. Upon selecting a function, the options will appear in the centre of the screen. Since it can all be adjusted so quickly, you will find yourself using the functionalities more often. Effects, ISO values (from 100 to 1600 ISO) and storage settings require opening a separate menu.

Samsung i8910 HD features a LED flash
The digital camera takes its time to focus before a picture can be taken. It takes 3 to 4 seconds before the picture is actually made and rendered on the screen. The Samsung i8910 HD does feature a LED flash, however it is not a very special one. Most pictures I've taken in the evening actually failed, and when shooting from up close, they turned out overexposed. The pictures taken in general lighting conditions are certainly not bad. The colors are very good, and whether you capture a large composition or a close-up, you can make great prints with the Samsung HD smartphone. Although you do have to be careful using the digital zoom, while it decreases the image quality significantly. I am more than happy about the applications on the computer and prints up to about A4-size.

Video feature of the Samsung HD
In addition to the 8.0 megapixel digital camera, the video feature of this Samsung HD is also important. Samsung emphasizes the video function by promoting and adding HD to the product name. If you switch to video in the camera application, a maximum resolution of 1280x720 can be selected; the High Definition 720p format. The expectations are high, however, on the pc we notice that it is actually only the size that is large, and not so much that the quality is excellent. A lot of nose is visible, especially when motion is involved. Yet it is still fun to film in this format, despite the quality being slightly disappointing, since it is easier to show the images on a TV set and offer a good impression of a special event to family and friends. Fun for a mobile phone, but it is definitely not a realistic replacement for the camcorder.
