The menu runs smoothly. However, the Symbian structure has slightly expanded, which does take time to get used to. Something you always have to count with, is ending a program; simply pressing red does not end it completely, while the program then remains active in the background. If the menu button is pressed for a short while, all open programs will be displayed. This way, you ensure your phone keeps running smoothly, and you make the battery lasts longer. Also the menu is rather simple when it comes to graphics; it could really have done with a bit more effort and attention.

Multimedia features of the Nokia N86

Multimedia characterizes the mobile phones from the Nokia N-series. A good multimedia player, as well as the option to install OVI applications, offers all you need. The Nokia N86 phone features an FM radio and an FM transmitter. Thanks to this transmitter, you can play your favorite music at a certain frequency which your car radio, for example, can then pick up. The main menu contains all the music. If you open the music player in the main menu, you will find various categories neatly structured, so that everything can easily be found. Even if you have a huge amount of pictures on your phone (200+) they can still be managed without a problem, unlike what we have experienced with other phones. You can scroll quickly through the pictures and the reproduction is fine.
