HTC Hero test conclusion

T he combination of HTC and Google Android makes the Hero mobile phone a genuinely new experience. The Magic HTC already gave us a hunch we were witnessing something significant of which we would see much more in the future. And no doubt, HTC now takes things a step further with the HTC Hero, and the HTC Sense interface proves that the user has been focused on. The user's ease has increased, thanks to the addition of several Widgets, while the main improvement is found in the graphical design. The 5.0 megapixel digital camera makes nice pictures, although they seem to disappoint on the phone and it is difficult to shoot in too much or too little environmental light. Endless applications of Internet and e-mail are available, not only because of HSDPA and Wi-Fi support, but more so because of the excellent web browser and effortless synchronization of a Google Account and Microsoft Exchange. There is always a nice thing to find in the growing Android Market, even things such as a navigation solution. By default, the GPS antenna only works with Google Maps.

All of this makes the HTC Hero a true all-rounder, the design is remarkable and the 'chin' is very distinctive. Although I have to admit I find the 'chin' a bit too bulky, especially when you carry the phone in your hand. This is definitely personal taste however, and when in use, the phone actually has a better hand-fit than the average one.
