HTC Touch Pro 2 digital camera
3.2 megapixel digital camera
In general, digital cameras integrated in HTC mobile phones are not very special. The HTC Touch Pro 2 features a 3.2 megapixel built-in digital camera. Sadly, we miss a hardware button to take a picture, which is often the case with HTC. This requires using the touchscreen monitor at all times. However, due to the size and weight of this phone, you are more than likely to make an unwanted move, since you no longer hold the phone with two hands. This is the reason why failed shots occurred frequently. In case you use the phone when it is slid open, you can also use the enter key to take a picture, however, in this position you cannot hold the phone comfortably to take pictures.

Camera hardware button missing
The lack of a camera hardware button requires activating the camera application by using the touchscreen monitor. There is a default shortcut found to the bottom right, which makes things a little easier. The application's start-up is pretty fast; in fact, in practice it may seem even faster since the viewfinder is displayed during start-up. The entire large color monitor is used as a viewfinder. There are only two icons visible, one to go to settings and the second is the shutter release itself. Capturing pictures happens at a reasonable speed. Once you press the shutter button, focus is carried out within approximately one second. Next, the monitor turns white to indicate that the picture was taken.

On the screen of the phone itself, the images are displayed very convincingly, thus creating high expectations. On a monitor with a higher resolution, the result is however somewhat disappointing; the pictures are often too saturated with too much contrast, which makes them slightly unnatural. Also, the camera does not appreciate a lot of sunlight; the dynamic range is insufficient, causing blown highlights and blocked shadows. And if it is becoming a little dark outdoors, then shooting with the HTC Touch Pro 2 proves virtually impossible. Noise becomes a major problem.

Shooting from a short distance delivers the most beautiful pictures. Since the auto mode sets everything automatically, you don't have to bother with setting a manual macro mode or anything of the sort. Besides using the shutter release on the screen, as mentioned before, you can also select settings. In this mode, we find the option to switch to video mode, add frames, adjust brightness and white balance, set ISO values up to ISO 800, and set resolution and storage, among other things
