GPS travel logger review
G PS receivers are strongly on the rise. Since the beginning of the year 2000, consumers are able to purchase a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver with high precision. In addition to tracking GPS coordinates, 'geotagging' is also becoming general knowledge. The i-gotU GPS travel logger is one of these handy GPS receivers, automatically storing routes and enabling 'geotagging' of your pictures. In other words; storing geographic data of a picture, including time and date. I took the i-gotU GT-100 GPS receiver with me on a long walk in the woods, and my experiences can be read in the following i-gotU GPS travel logger review.

About GPS; Global Positioning System
GPS stands for Global Positioning System and is simply a navigation system that works through satellites. Originally, the GPS was meant solely for serving military purposes through a network of some 24 satellites. In the eighties, the network became available to the public. The advantage of GPS is the fact that it works everywhere on earth, at all times and in all weather conditions. Each of these GPS satellites circles the globe, making two complete rotations twice a day whilst sending out signals to the earth. GPS receivers receive this information and are capable of calculating their own location and position with utmost precision.

i-gotU GPS receiver design
GPS receivers are available in many designs and price levels. The i-gotU USB travel logger is a straightforward and affordable GPS receiver with an extremely manageable design. The rectangular waterproof housing with detachable rubber case is both weatherproof and shockproof. At first sight you wouldn't guess the device is a GPS receiver. It only has one round button and does not feature a monitor. A neat design, somewhat resembling Apple products. The GPS receiver is available only in white with a light-blue case.
