Samsung B2100 digital camera
1.3 megapixel digital camera
The integrated digital camera of the Samsung B2100 features a resolution of 1.3 megapixels. It may be clear that this is only an additional feature. Many similar rugged mobile phones don't have a digital camera at all. It is nice to take a photo to use as a background for the phone, but to really get shooting, you shouldn’t purchase this particular Samsung mobile phone. Its resolution is simply too low and it lacks autofocus. The camera application however, starts up quickly and taking a picture takes only little time, which is of course partly related to the lack of the autofocus. In addition to creating digital pictures, it is also possible to capture video movies with the Samsung B2100 Xplorer.
Samsung B2100 media player
Listening to music on the Samsung B2100
Inside the menu, you will find the music player, and particularly thanks to the expandable memory, it has to be said the Samsung B2100 does well as a music player. It's fun during outdoor sports or at the beach. The music player is straightforward, yet enables you to always play your favorite music. Upon activating the music player, it will search for multimedia files. Next, they will be displayed by artist, album, genre or recently played. Everything is displayed well-structured and proves easy to find. The Samsung phone Xplorer has a reasonable speaker, however, to listen to music, it's better to use the included headset.

Extreme temperatures, falling down and even dealing with liquids; there's simply no limit for this Samsung. The even slightly stylish design certainly does not give away how much this mobile phone can endure. Even more so compared to the Sonim, which was literally meant to be thrown around. Yet the solidness of the Samsung did prove itself during testing. Samsung not only proves able to withstand extreme temperatures and moisture, but also enables you to find your way around in the dark. In that case, the built in flashlight offers the solution. Moreover, an integrated FM radio is available, which also lets you record music. The rugged Samsung phone also provides Bluetooth functionality. This not only serves to connect the Samsung B2100 to your car kit or headset, but also to send and receive pictures and music files.
Samsung B2100 memory
microSDHC memory card support
The internal memory of the Samsung B2100 Xplorer is 7MB. This is enough for a few pictures and a ringtone. However, Samsung opted for an expandable with support for microSD / SDHC memory cards. That way, the phone can easily be used as music player. However; it is rather difficult that the SD card is placed underneath the battery. Not only because the phone always has to be switched off in order to change the card, but also because is not very easy to open the back. A similar cover as the one for the charging connection would have enabled an SD slot on the side. The Samsung B2100 rugged cell phone supports microSDHC memory cards up to 16GB.
Samsung B2100 battery
T he included 3.7V 1000mAh Lithium Ion battery delivers a stunning performance. According to the specifications, a maximum standby time of 600 hours and a maximum call time of 9 hours should be available. These are excellent specifications, yet there are a few natural causes that will affect the standby time. When using the Samsung B2100 moderately, it comes down to having to recharge your phone only after more than a week. Regular use requires loading the battery after five to six days. The actual charging does last a bit longer than it usually would, but if you bear in mind the long standby time, it should not be a problem.
