HTC Touch Diamond 2 review | Introduction
HTC Touch Diamond 2 test
T he Touch Diamond was one of the most outstanding phones from the previous HTC assortment. However, developments and integration of innovative communication solutions occur at a dazzling speed. This is why a successful phone like the HTC Diamond is not able to live on its popularity forever, and is in fact more likely to pave the path for prolongation of the success for its successor, the HTC Touch Diamond 2 in this case. It may not come as a surprise that the HTC Touch Diamond 2 looks a lot like, or even better; has inherited a lot from its predecessor. The Touch Diamond 2 still has its chic appearance and has been sharpened as far as technical specifications go in order to maintain a good position within the fiercely competitive market. The HTC Touch Diamond 2 phone features a display with higher resolutions, a high resolution digital camera, support of Quad band GSM networks, and is able to expand its memory through the built-in microSD card slot. These are all improved specifications, on paper that is, however; will it continue the success of the HTC Diamond phones?

HTC Touch Diamond 2 mobile phone design
A sophisticated, beautifully designed model; this is how the HTC Touch Diamond 2 should be classified. The first thing we notice is the absence of the artificially-cut facets on the back of the phone. I must admit I found them rather kitschy to begin with; I prefer the neat style of the HTC Diamond 2. The material used on the back does diminish the solid and durable feel slightly. This becomes clear immediately when the back cover is removed. The light, plastic cover is quite the opposite of the material used for the rest of the phone. Additionally, the material used makes the phone rather smooth and slippery. Personally, I prefer a somewhat rougher feel to it, so that I don't feel I have to squeeze the phone in order to prevent it from slipping out of my hand. Something else that is quite bothersome is the smudge-prone surface of the Touch Diamond. 2. If you want to keep the handset as clean as you found it in the box, you will have to handle it with gloves on! Other than that, the HTC Diamond 2 smartphone feels solid and beams with firmness.

HTC Touch Diamond II user experience
The HTC smartphone radiates stylish quality; a phone you certainly won’t want to hide. The phone has a high-level finish and the focus for this handset lies on real quality. Although it has gained slightly in weight compared to its predecessor (Touch Diamond), the Touch Diamond 2 is significantly lighter than the Touch HD cell phone. If we use the phone for its purpose; communication, we experience a fine sound quality. Yet there is a difference. It's hard to put my finger on it, but the clearness and overall depth don't yet seem to work optimally. Either way, it is not something to make an issue of. Naturally, one remarkable feature of the HTC Touch Diamond 2 is the integration of the TouchFLO 3D technique. We have already come to version 2.0 and the first thing you notice, is that certain features have speeded up. Additionally, the operation is transparent, or straightforward if you like, whereas the keys have also become bigger. Details that have been brought to attention by consumers and they certainly have been heard. Still, I can imagine users not being charmed by this technique. The solution is the Stylus pen, although I can imagine this is only the beginning of optimal Touchscreen technologies use. Personally, I preferred using a Stylus pen to using my fingers to operate the HTC Touch Diamond 2. In fact, the edge of a fingernail is clearly the most suitable, although I think you may as well use the Stylus pen in that case.
