Wintec G-Trender review | GPS menu pages
Wintec GPS calendar menu
Calendar page
The Calendar page provides access to time and date settings. Furthermore, the GPS device has a simple yet clear calendar. It's not a very enhanced function, yet comes in handy sometimes.
Wintec GPS speed menu
Speed page
The Speed page offers a wide array of general information about speed, average speed, temperature and the altitude at which you are. The main difference with the Altitude page is the fact that the latter works with graphs and tables whereas the Speed page shows figures and numbers in a numeric way.
Wintec GPS satellite menu
Satellite page
It's quite important to know whether you're connected to enough satellites. Otherwise, there is no way of receiving data on your GPS receiver. The Satellite page provides information about the signal status. There are two ways of displaying this information: via a generally used round graph or via vertical bars. Just pick the one you find the easiest to read. Furthermore, this page lets you restart the GPS device for both a Cold Start as well as a Hot Start.
Wintec GPS compass menu
Compass page
The Compass page is one of the pages you will often use; at least this was my experience. On the main page, either a smiling or a sad looking icon will show the status of the GPS signal. If there are not enough GPS signals, the G-Trender can be calibrated again with a simple and quick process. Naturally the compass occupies a prominent spot within this menu.
Wintec GPS altimeter menu
Altimeter page
The Altimeter page provides information about altitude, pressure and temperature. These items are displayed in three graphs. The time line can be adjusted, but the graph displays the last 30 minutes as a standard. There is also a calibration option linked to this function. It allows you to you manually insert the altitude but you can also have the GPS receiver do it for you.
Wintec GPS astronomy menu
Astronomy page
The Astronomy page provides general information just like the calendar page; however, the information can not be adjusted. Information about the position of the sun, the sunrise and sunset are easy to view. The position of the moon is also displayed in a monthly overview.
Wintec navigation menu
I f you have entered your final destination beforehand, the Navigation page will show you where to go in order to reach your destination. Again it is displayed in either a graph or a visual view, for example; 'Front right'. Furthermore, a simple map is displayed with the route you're travelling although no street names or waters are visible. If you come across something interesting on your way, you can log the location by pressing the button once, and later looking it up on Google Earth when you're at home to find the exact location.
Wintec GPS training menu
Training page
The Training page lets you design a training program; distances and/or a time limit are easy to set. Data about your speed and travelled heights are captured. A nice extra feature for outdoor sportsmen and women.
Wintec GPS info menu
Information page
This page offers information about the stored log data, for example, the amount of memory that is used up or the amount of tracks captured. Also the log mode is displayed here, which can be set to 'user mode', 'walk mode', 'bike mode' and 'motor mode'. A new log can also be started on this page.
