Creative ZEN music player / video player

The Creative Zen Mozaic is an excellent music/video player with a nice additional function of watching pictures. The menu and the functions this media player provides are almost similar to those of the original Creative Zen. However; the Zen Mozaic is smaller and has a head-turning front. The control pad looks like a tile mosaic which will appeal to many consumers. It's nice to see that an adjustment made to the appearance of an MP3 Player can have such an impact. If you place the Creative Zen and the Zen Mozaic alongside each other, and you ask someone to choose between the two, nearly everybody goes for the smaller and more stylish Mozaic player. The speaker of this Zen managed to surprise me yet again. I can't think of a player of this size and in this price class that produces a better sound than the Mozaic. The advantage of the original Zen is the screen being larger than that of the Mozaic. That is why watching a movie or pictures, is less pleasant on the Mozaic. This is the only minus that I find worth mentioning.

In short, this media player is all about music and that is exactly what this player is good at. It does produce an excellent sound and treats you to an extremely clear and neat sound that everybody appreciates. The earphones are well able to produce a good sound and I am pleased about Creative's choice for a traditional earphone instead of in-ear plugs. You can still hear background sounds while listening to your music. This is pleasant when you participate in traffic, however, less pleasant perhaps during a train journey. The Zen Mozaic features some nice extras, among which a calendar function and an option to record sounds via the player's integrated microphone. The Creative Zen Mozaic is all about music and style. For the original Zen, you currently pay approximately 80 euros for the 2GB version, whereas for the Zen Mozaic you pay approximately 60 euro. The players provide almost the same options; the only differences are the appearance, the monitor's size and the dimensions of the player. The Creative Zen Mozaic is certainly worth its money.
