LG Arena review | GPS Function
Integrated GPS antenna
T hanks to the integrated GPS antenna with A-GPS, you can locate your position everywhere, and the Google Maps Application will show you where you are, and even plan a route if you like. Thanks to the A-GPS function, the GPS location is found faster, since a network is also used. For this, a data connection is required. Luckily, the LG Arena also has WiFi at its disposal, which is why you don't have to depend solely on the phone's network. Since it is not possible to install external software on the phone, there is no possibility to install navigation software and use the LG Arena as a full navigation system.
LG Arena memory slot
microSDHC memory card
The LG Arena has a standard internal memory of 8GB, which enables storing all music and movie files directly on the phone. This is handy, while it is exactly what this phone is about. If 8GB memory is not enough for you, you can use the memory card slot for a microSD/SDHC memory card. The LG Arena supports memory cards up to a maximum of 16GB which makes it a total memory of 24GB.
LG Arena battery compartment
Standby time
The battery that LG has included is a 3.7V 1000mAh Lithium Ion battery and lasts for a maximum standby time of 300 hours and a talk-time of 3.8 hours. The standby time is somewhat disappointing in practice. Whereas other mobile phones are able to reach a standby time of three to four days without having to recharge the battery, the Arena struggles to even reach two and, if hardly used, three days. The battery often gave in within two days, and if I made a 30-minute phone call, took a few pictures and played a few MP3 files, it only took a single day for the battery to run out of energy.
