Qstarz outdoor GPS device - Travelling through Turkey
Qstarz travel recorder software
Once at home, it was time to start up the included Travel Recorder PC Utility V4 software and upload the GPS data. Uploading the route was fast and easy and provided surprising results. Immediately after uploading, the route was shown and by only pressing a button once, I was able to see the route via the Satellite mode of Google Maps. I would not dare to compare these compact travel recorders to a 500 Euro GPS handheld; that would not be fair anyway. That said, the Qstarz BT1000X shows the route very accurately. In rural areas the accuracy is almost optimal. In a city, the accuracy drops slightly yet is still very acceptable. Uploading the attached pictures also happens in only two clicks. And the result is perfect. If Google Maps is not enough for you, with one more click, you can see everything displayed in Google Earth using the software.

Locr Pro account voucher
In addition to the included software package, a voucher can also be found in the box for a free Locr Pro account, valid for one month. Several travel recorder corporations, such as ATP, have chosen to cooperate with Locr. The Locr application works well online and for products like those of ATP, which are usually delivered without a software package, this voucher is warmly welcomed. However, there is nothing wrong with the Qstarz software and personally, I can't see any reason to use this voucher other than the sharing option which allows you to share your route with others. Besides, within the software application, there are also enough options to export GPS data in various formats.
