Samsung i8510 review | Memory & Battery
Samsung i8510 Memory
T he Samsung i8510 offers an internal memory of 8GB. This is a separate internal storage space, just as it is on the Omnia. Occasionally, the phone will tell you the memory is full, which means you have to transfer some files to the 8GB storage. The memory is expandable by using a microSD/SDHC memory card. The Samsung i8510 INNOV8 supports cards up to a maximum size of 16GB. In combination with the internal memory, you will have no less than 24GB at your disposal. Memory cards have to be inserted on one side of the mobile phone, which means exchanging the cards is possible without having to turn the phone off.

Samsung Lithium Ion battery
The 1200 mAh 3.7V Lithium Ion, standard included with the Samsung i8510, is able to last for 310 hours in standby mode and offers a maximum talk-time of 8.5 hours, according to the specifications. The camera, music player and internet applications are responsible for a vast decrease in standby time. In case of general use, you should be able to use the handset between two and three days without a recharge. This is quite common for this type of cell phones. The real heavy-duty users would have to recharge the battery on a daily base anyway, more so if navigation software is installed.
Samsung INNOV8 software
Samsung PC Studio V7 software
The software standard included with the Samsung i8510 INNOV8 is Samsung PC Studio V7. It differs from the well-known Samsung software. This software was specifically developed for Symbian S60 mobile phones. Also without the software, you can copy data to and fro the mobile phone. And even the phone memory remains accessible. The data cable is rather short, some twenty centimeters, which is in fact strikingly short. If you do install the software, it will allow for making back-ups, managing applications, synchronizing contacts, connecting to the internet via the phone and consulting messages.
