ATP GPS Test

T he Taiwanese company ATP is mainly known for its flash memory products. However, in addition ATP also manufactures GPS devices. We are already acquainted with them, since we recently tested the ATP Photo Finder. Unfortunately, this GPS device didn't do too well according to our test,; in particular when it came to the user-friendliness and the monitor that was hard to read. Meanwhile, ATP has brought a new GPS device onto the market, the ATP Photo Finder Mini. This photo tracker should lift geotagging to a completely new level, according to ATP. We put it through thorough testing procedures to see whether or not the GPS Photo Finder Mini can actually live up to these expectations. Our experience with this portable photo accessory can be read in the following ATP GPS review.

Geotagging photos with the ATP Photo Finder

Nowadays, geotagging is general knowledge. With the use of geotagging, GPS information of your pictures can be gathered and stored. In other words: where and when did you take a picture? Afterwards, the geographic locations of where exactly the pictures were captured can be viewed online. No need for software, since online applications such as Picasa, Flickr, Panoramio, Locr and Google Maps offer the solution. And the ATP GPS Photo Finder Mini takes things one step further: also the route you took can be stored, and viewed through Google Earth afterwards.

ATP GPS Photo Finder Mini design

The ATP GPS Photo Finder Mini has a compact size, as the name already reveals. The rectangular black lack design of the body feels like plastic and is extremely light when it comes to weight. The carbine clip makes it ever so easy to attach this GPS device to your trousers. And thanks to its light weight, 40 grams, you don't notice the GPS device dangling down there. Besides the GPS device itself, a multi-functional docking station is included in the package. And that is not all, also a battery charger with USB connection and users guides in both paper version and CD format are included.
