Motorola ZN5 review | Camera Functions
Motorola ZN5 digital camera
Motorola chooses Kodak camera technology
In cooperation with Kodak, Motorola has integrated a special technology into the ZN5 Motozine, enabling faster and better image processing. Therefore, the 5.0 Megapixel digital camera takes considerably better pictures. This is mainly thanks to the unparalleled speed with which a picture can be captured, generally unheard of for a mobile phone, enabling you to shoot any snapshot at all times. Additionally, the technology also ensures capturing pictures as perfectly as possible in all circumstances, even in badly lit circumstances. If it is really too dark, the Xenon flash comes in handy; that is why I could even take decent pictures during my night out on the town.
Motorola ZN5 camera application
5 Megapixel digital camera
The Motorola ZN5 carries a shortcut on the right side to activate the camera application upon depressing it. Furthermore, there is a sliding cover protecting the lens; upon opening the application is also activated. Starting the camera application is sufficiently quick; you can photograph almost immediately. During shooting, the arrow buttons can be used to change a setting. Up and down you can scroll through settings such as 'focus', 'flash' and 'white balance' whilst adjustments can be made by pressing to the left or right. This works extremely easy and fast. It prevents you from having to search the entire menu.
Sharing pictures online
T he main menu offers a Kodak function to do things with your pictures on the spot, such as sharing them online with friends. Pictures made with the Motorola ZN5 are of superb quality. At times when the distance to the subject you want to capture is somewhat larger and it is getting dark, the Xenon flash range proves insufficient. However, in many cases you make perfect pictures even in twilight; pictures that are hard to distinguish from pictures taken by a regular digital camera. The only thing I did miss now and then is an optical zoom.

Motorola ZN5 Internet cell phone
Wi-Fi Internet on the Motozine ZN5
Like any mobile phone, the built-in Internet browser is reasonable. It works quite fast and navigation is fine. In addition to the mobile Internet connection through a network, the Motorola Motozine ZN5 also offers Wi-Fi. It allows connecting the phone to a wireless network in order to surf the Net. Searching an available Wi-Fi network is fast and connecting to it is also easy. The Wi-Fi option on this Motorola ZN5 mobile phone is quite convenient, since you can otherwise only use the slower GPRS.

Multimedia functions on the Motorola ZN5
The menu icon 'Multimedia' contains all the available multimedia functionalities. You will find the digital camera, FM radio, voice recorder and music library here. As for the music library; displaying artist, album or genre is possible. This makes navigating through large files of music extremely easy and well-structured. All audio is automatically uploaded here. Changing between different tracks is very fast, even if these have to be read from a memory card. Furthermore, the media player looks neat.
