B ang & Olufsen is a company that values tradition and innovation alike, and strives to develop effective products that prompt the perception and enlarge the joy. The cooperation between this company and Samsung has resulted in a hugely innovative mobile phone, at which the unique vision on design and the advanced sound technology of Bang & Olufsen are combined with the ingenious mobile phone technology of Samsung. The huge black box containing the Samsung F310, better known as the Samsung Serenata, must be filled to the brim, is my first thought. And this is confirmed upon opening the box. Naturally, it contains the usual accessories; a battery charger, USB data cable, manuals and PC software. A headset connection is also included which enables connecting your personal ear set. Samsung too have thought of earplugs, which come in the form of a Bluetooth headset. The latter is charged in a separate holder, a loose charger. For the Samsung F310 as such, a holder has been created that neatly fits the phone. This station is standard equipped with a multi-functional connection with positions for the charger, USB data cable and headset connection. This means that you are allowed to recharge the handset, listen to music and transfer files to and fro the computer at the very same time. And last but not least, it is possible to connect the Serenata to a TV set using an included cable.

Unique design of the Samsung F310 B&O
When I first laid eyes on the Samsung Serenata, my initial reaction was: "Is this a mobile phone?" The device could be mistaken for an MP3 player and even for a radio alarm clock. In short; the Samsung F310's design is unique. The black and silver colored device features a nicely curved top side and measures 109.5 mm (height), 63 mm (width) and 19.7 mm (depth). On the front, the touchscreen is found with a navigation dial that is placed above the screen, much to my surprise. A small flap is found on the back that allows for placing the phone straight up. Finally, when you slide up the back of the phone, an impressive (in mobile telephony terms) speaker appears, that makes you want to test its sound quality immediately upon looking at it. The Samsung Serenata is original, straightforward yet effectively designed, and looking at the small device you undoubtedly get curious about its ability.
