Samsung F700 Battery
Lithium-Ion battery
The Samsung F700 is standard delivered including a 3.7 volt Lithium-Ion battery. After the first full charge I was enjoying the mobile phone for some 22 hours. This included calling for around 20 minutes and a reasonable use of the camera and music player. According to the specifications the standby time is 250 hours. That would lead to an average of one charge every two days. It might be wise to purchase an extra battery or battery charger for the car in case the phone gets used more frequently.
Samsung F700 Memory
microSD memory card
The Samsung F700 has an internal memory of 140MB. After one week of taking pictures there was one quarter of the memory still left. This storage capacity seems impressive but compared to models with 8GB of internal memory, 140MB seems nothing. Thankfully you can enhance the memory with a microSD flash memory card. In case you want to carry your entire music collection with you, you have to purchase more memory. The Samsung F700 smartphone support SDHC (SD High Capacity) memory cards with a minimum capacity of 4GB besides the standard Secure Digital.
Internet on the Samsung smartphone
Samsung F700 HSPDA connection
Surfing on the Internet with the Samsung F700 is excellent. The phone has an HSDPA connection so it is fast too, if the network is available. I do miss the Wi-Fi functionality since the Samsung F700 does not offer this possibility. Wi-Fi enables wireless internet connection at home or on the road, without having to use data from your cell phone plan. Usually these kinds of phones come with an Internet plan so it is no problem at all. The screen shows the full Internet page and by using the plus/minus button on the side of the phone you're able to zoom in. This facilitates visiting Internet pages that are not specifically suited for showing on a mobile phone. Because of the phone's simlock, you will standard enter the Vodafone Live menu with various services.
Samsung F700 Software
Samsung PC Studio software
The standard included software that comes with the Samsung F700 is the Samsung PC Studio. As soon as you connect the phone to the computer you will find three possibilities on the screen: Media player, PC Studio and mass storage. PC Studio lets you manage your contacts and messages, replace backups from the phone and of course copy pictures and videos to and fro the handset. It takes a while for PC Studio software to retrieve files from the phone. The fastest way of exchanging data is the mass storage mode. A minus of this mode is that only the memory card can be read.

Samsung QWERTY keyboard
Samsung F700 Music player
Samsung F700 MP3 player
The Samsung F700 smartphone lets you play various music formats. The MP3 player is accessible through the main menu. To wind fast forward or to go to the next song, you have to use the touchscreen. The phone has no radio at its disposal unfortunately. The included headset consists of two parts. This is great because the part that is inserted in the phone ends in a universal headset connection which means that every desired headset can be connected.
Samsung F700 Applications
Microsoft document viewer
Besides reproduction of pictures, videos and music files, the Samsung F700 is also capable of rendering Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. It's only a Viewer so you can't change anything in the documents. I found the PowerPoint files easy to read and easy accessible on the phone, it's like a handout, and you get a good impression of the presentation. Unfortunately the other files were harder to read, zooming in is enabled but then you still have to continue scrolling.
