Jawbone headset review

Jawbone headset review

Bluetooth headset sound quality

Firstly I tested the Jawbone Bluetooth headset without the 'Noise Shield technology' function, which ensures sounds in the background are minimized. The sound quality is of a very high level, but the thing that came to my mind straight away, was the need for a function to lessen the background sounds. The volume can be adjusted in six steps through the 'Talk button', and offers sufficient volume which makes it easy to adjust it according to the surroundings. The fact that headsets are often used in a noisy environment, made me try out the Jawbone headset in the car on the motorway. Apart from the background noise the conversations went fine and effortlessly. It became more difficult to hear my partner on the other end of the phone when music was turned on in the car and of course also for my partner it got more difficult to hear me. A perfect moment to start using the 'Noise Shield technology' function.

Jawbone Noise Shield technology

The Jawbone headset has been equipped with Aliph's latest technology for minimizing background sounds in order to enable having normal conversations in every situation, also in noisy circumstances. This technology goes by the ever so fitting name of 'Noise Shield technology'. You can activate this function by pressing the 'Noise Shield technology' button for 3 seconds. Turning this function on during the conversation with my partner, his first reaction was: "Are you still there?" Things had gotten so quiet; he thought I had ended the call. The sound of the wind on the motorway and the music of the car had disappeared immediately after activating 'Noise Shield technology'. During the rest of the call I made sure not to raise my voice to test if the 'Noise Shield technology' really works the way Aliph claims. Not only in the car on a motorway with music turned on, but also in a pub with loud background music I can only come to one conclusion: the 'Noise Shield technology' works perfectly!
