D uring a mixed dealer and press event in London, Samsung officially announced the Samsung G800 camera phone. The high resolution 5 Megapixel Samsung G800 is an enhanced version of the G600. Samsung introduce the new G800 camera phone as a striking digital camera that can also be used as a mobile phone. Paul Wilkens, Sales & Marketing Director Telecommunications Benelux, explained as follows: "Our R&D department developed the camera first and after that the mobile phone to fit around it, in stead of taking a mobile phone as base and integrate the camera afterwards." Samsung has high expectations from the G800 handset. Samsung had hired part of the British Museum for the event that took place in London on Monday night 29th of October.

The new Samsung G800 will be available in different colours (black and silver) depending on the area where they will be sold. Mobile photography is Samsung's new power that considerably raises sales figures of mobile phones. Samsung, European's second largest supplier of mobile phones, possess an excellent market share.
