Nokia Mobile Codes Technology
The press extensively reports about Nokia mobile phones and accessories. Nowadays the Nokia OVI services have been added to it. But Nokia offers their clients more. Nokia offers the availability of so-called 'Mobile Codes'. Writing a text message, applying a phone number or inserting a URL, a unique code will be returned by means of a grid, consisting of black and white image dots. With the aid of the code reader, Nokia N-series are able to read the code and send you for example directly to the encrypted web site.
Sending Mobile Codes through handset
Reading the code is carried out by the camera function. Aiming the phone on the code will directly result in reading it. On the Nokia N93, N93i, N95 and E90 the code reader will be preset upon purchasing the phone. Code reader software for the Nokia N80 is available for downloading. The Mobile Code enables easy sharing of 'secret' information such as phone numbers or text messages with friends, family or colleagues. Besides that one can think of many other possibilities for using this feature. A very easy, useful and innovative system from Nokia!
Near Field Communication
N okia NFC (Near Field Communi-cation) enables interaction between electronic devices through a wireless connection in an innovative and secure way. As soon as two NFC supporting devices are placed on a few centimetre distance from each other NFC communication can start. Files can be transferred wirelessly from telephones or printers and NFC can be used for downloading files. NFC can even serve as some sort of key or security card. And what's more and most innovative, the NFC can be used for payments through your mobile phone; using your handy as a credit card. Imagine; the only thing you need for buying a train ticket, a parking ticket or even an airplane ticket is your mobile phone. Currently the Nokia N6131 NFC is the only Nokia mobile phone equipped with this innovative technology. But it will not surprise us if this option offers a great solution for many consumers in the (near) future.
