Samsung SGH-i620 - Menu
Samsung i620 Software
The Samsung i620's menu is very neat and well-organized. Also here many options for organizing it are available. The start screen standard carries the Microsoft Windows mobile style but can be changed to the so-called 'Samsung appearance' for example. The icons of the various menu sections are accompanied by clear explanations. The menu also offers the ClearVue document viewer. The document viewer is not a full pocket office, but in case an email is received during travelling with attached to it a PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint file, it can be opened and checked while still on the road.
Samsung SGH-i620 - MP3 Player
Samsung i620 Headset
Music and movies can be played by making use of the Windows Media Player 10 Mobile. Songs and movies can be neatly stored in files so finding them when you need them again is not a problem. Of course you need to organize your files and structure them well… Operating the Windows Media Player 10 Mobile is easy and intuitive and the sound quality of the Samsung i620 is fine. If a phone call is received whilst listening to music through the headset, the MP3 player automatically pauses. As soon as the call is finished the MP3 player will automatically start playing again.
Samsung i620 phone - Battery
Samsung i620 Extended battery
The Samsung i620 is standard delivered with two batteries and a separate charger. The second battery will definitely come in handy, for example on (business) trips. The 1200mAh battery of the Samsung i620 offers a standby time of 320 hours and a talk-time of 2.5 hours according to its specifications. These times are quite similar to the times I measured. And of course, the user time will decrease considerably when the monitor is used a lot but this goes for every mobile phone. Also when the SMS option is used a lot, the cell phone will have to be recharged after about one day.
Samsung i620 phone - Monitor
Samsung i620 LCD display
The Samsung i620 is equipped with a 2.2 inch 65,000 pixels colour screen. The quality is fine, despite the limited amount of colours that he monitor is able to produce. Contrast and colours of the captured pictures are rendered on the LCD screen exactly the same as they are in reality. A problem form the large contrast differences. When capturing pictures with considerable contrast differentiation the colours reproduced on the monitor seemed to be deviated. However, after transferring the pictures onto a computer the colours turned out correctly.
