HTC Touch Camera

HTC Touch Camera

HTC Touch mobile phone - Camera

The HTC Touch is equipped with a 2 Megapixel digital camera. The camera is activated through the camera button on the site of the handset and also through the menu. The camera lens is situated on the back of the cell phone. Above the camera lens a mirror is placed enabling to shoot a self-portrait. The camera offers various setting possibilities thus the image can be adjusted to the photographic circumstances and a nice quality picture can be taken. Surprisingly enough HTC decided once again not to offer flash possibilities on the digital camera. Therefore it is almost impossible to shoot a decent picture in less sunny situations.

HTC Touch Shutter release lag

HTC Touch phone - Shutter release lag

We find digital cameras in cell phones for many years now. A problem that the majority of all mobile phones still suffer from is the shutter release lag. And this is also the case on the HTC Touch. When the shutter release is pressed capturing a moving object, you will find the object on a different spot on your screen than where you intended to capture it. Storing the picture also takes a while. Making a series of pictures of a moving object sequentially in highest resolution does not belong to the possibilities of the HTC Touch mobile phone.

HTC Touch Image quality

HTC Touch Image quality

The image quality for a 2 Megapixel phone such as the HTC Touch is good, provided that you take the picture in sufficient light circumstances. Large contrast differences make light parts in a picture too light and details non recognizable in the dark parts. Lacking of the flash and the shutter release lag will make your photos suffer from blur due to jitter of the photographer's hand in badly lit situations. Photos taken under these circumstances show high digital noise and unfortunately it is not possible to limit this on the HTC Touch by manually adjust the ISO value. Shooting a high quality picture is therefore only possible in well lit situations.

Besides white balance settings, self-timer, resolution and exposure, also the size, quality and resolution of a picture can be selected. Some settings such as white balance, brightness, image quality and exposure metering can be adjusted directly in the main screen. Settings that can not be selected in the main screen can be adjusted in the setting menu. Contrast, saturation and sharpness can also be adjusted. When taking the time to study and check these settings, and if necessary adjust them will certainly add to the image quality.

HTC Touch - MicroSD

H TC offers the possibility for enhanced memory capacity of the HTC Touch with a microSD memory card. A choice from different capacities and speeds cards is offered. We chose the SanDisk 2GB microSD memory card for its stability and its speed. The 2GB microSD Memory Kit is also a good option. Besides a microSD memory card the Memory Kit offers a twosome of adapters to enable using the microSD card as miniSD as well as SD card. Just insert the microSD card effortlessly in the adapter after which it functions as miniSD or as SD card. There are more than one possibilities to transfer files from the microSD memory card to the computer. A good choice would be the SanDisk MobileMate SD + 5 in 1 card reader that is extremely small and therefore easy to carry with you.

If you want a card reader that you can carry around with ease because of its size, then the SanDisk MobileMate card reader is a good choice. You can select from two different MobileMate card readers; the SD Plus and the Memory Stick Plus version. The Memory Stick Plus supports: Memory Stick Micro, Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO and Memory Stick cards.
