Samsung D900 - White balance

The colours in photos taken with the Samsung D900 look realistic. In particular, photos taken outside in clear weather look great. In addition to the automatic white balance setting, the Samsung D900 has 5 other manual settings. I don't think that many people will use the manual setting, but in any rate you can do so if you need to. There is some colour distortion in artificial lighting, but adjust the white balance, take the photo again and the problem is solved. You will have to look around in the beginning to see which setting gives the best results. Personally, I thought that the setting for fluorescent lighting gave better results with photos taken in normal tungsten lighting than the tungsten setting itself.

Samsung D900 - MP3 player

It has become a trend to have a MP3 player in your mobile phone. The Samsung SGH-D900 also has a MP3 player. It is handy that you can enlarge the external memory with a microSD card with greater storage capacity. You can use microSD cards with a maximum capacity of 2GB in the Samsung D900. If we presume an average of 3MB per MP3 number, you can get about 680 songs on a 2GB card. With so much choice, you will always have something to listen to! You can listen to the MP3s via the accompanying headphones or just via the telephones speaker. It is a real pity that Samsung has its own connection for the head phones this means you can never use your own headphones, but will have to make do with those from Samsung.

SGH D900 - Video

Not only can you take photos with the Samsung SGH-D900 but you can also make films with sound. Making a video clip is done the same way as taking a photo. Instead of selecting photo when you activate the camera, you just select video record. To start up, just use the camera key on the right side of the Samsung SGH-D900. The Samsung D900's video record function is great, especially with the addition of sound. The recordings look good, not shaky or jagged.

SGH D900 - PictBridge

The Samsung D900 allows you to transfer photos to a computer or lap top via a USB interface or via Bluetooth. Transferring 25 photos (together 4.3MB) using the accompanying USB cable took about one and a half minutes. In my work space this took about 5 minutes using Bluetooth. So if you need to do this quickly, get the USB cable or transfer data via a card reader. The Samsung SGH-D900 also has a PictBridge function. You can print photos via Bluetooth, at least if the printer supports it, or you can connect it via the supplied USB cable.

SGH D900 - Effects

To make the photos that bit nicer, the Samsung D900 gives you the opportunity to use various effects. You can take photos in black and white, negative or sepia. There are also a number of artistic settings, such as relief and sketch. You can make photos look like paintings or an in-depth image. These are fun things to use. You can also select the function framework, so that you can give someone glasses, a big moustache and nose or even dress them up in an Eskimo suit if you want.
