Pantech Group, Korea’s leading mobile phone manufacturer, today unveiled three stylish new handsets to be made available in Argentina and announced plans to capture at least 10 percent of the Argentine mobile phone market by the end of 2007. The new products, the PG-3810, PG-1310V and the PG-1610 will be offered through CTI Movil, the Argentine affiliate of America Movil, the largest mobile carrier in Latin America. Keon C. Kim, Senior Vice President, Overseas Sales, Pantech Group, said: “Argentina is integral to our efforts to further expand in Latin America. The launch of these exciting new products is in line with our goal to increase our presence in the region and to position ourselves as a leading mobile handset manufacturer”.

Pantech Group, the leading Korean handset manufacturer, today announced that it has signed a landmark agreement with Orange - the second biggest mobile service carrier in Europe, - to supply branded UMTS phones in France. The agreement with Orange, which is also the largest mobile service carrier in France, with around 23 million subscribers, marks Pantech’s first partnership with a Europe-based global mobile operator.

Pantech Group, the number two mobile phone manufacturer in South Korea, today announced that it has signed an agreement for the supply of its compact PN-218 handset to Alltel Wireless, owner and operator of America's largest wireless network. The Pantech PN-218 phone - a CDMA handset to be sold by Alltel under the Pantech brand in the U.S. - is targeted at young, trend conscious consumers and incorporates an enhanced, compact unique design to provide users with a superior yet practical range of easy to use applications.

Pantech Group (Sung Kyu, Lee, President&CEO of International Operations), announced its marketing strategy in Argentina by establishing its branch in the end of August. Pantech’s marketing in Argentine market started in December of 2005 supplying Pantech branded PG3210 phone to CTI Movil, the No.2 telecommunication operator, an affiliate of No.1 telecommunication group “America Movil” in Central and South America, has now overcome difficulties at initial time in the market and is showing fast growth.

Pantech Group, the number two mobile phone manufacturer in South Korea, announced the launch of the IM-U140 handset, a satellite digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) handset that provides users with a genuinely unique mobile phone experience via its innovatively designed display screen. The LCD display is designed to pop up automatically at a 30 degree angle when users push a button next to the screen, optimizing user’s angle of view. Pantech Group, one of the world’s fastest growing handset manufacturers, announced today the launch of five new handsets as part of plans to further build its share of the rapidly expanding mobile phone market in Latin America. The five handsets will be made available through Telcel, the largest mobile service operator in Latin America. Pantech, which established a dedicated subsidiary in Mexico last year, plans to increase its share of the local market by expanding the range of Pantech models on offer to Mexican consumers.

Pantech Group's up-to-date fingerprint recognition technology has attracted public attention.
Australian IT online media “MobileWhack” reported on this 28th that a fingerprint phone “Pantech PG-6200” has received approval by American FCC and thus biometrics security system has been realized formally. In the first paragraph of the report, favorable comment is given as “Biometrics has been embodied through Pantech’s PG-6200”, this phone which has obtained approval by FCC is one of the world advanced phones built in fingerprint recognition function.”

Pantech Wireless, Inc. - the U.S. based subsidiary of Pantech Group, the number two mobile company in South Korea - and Disney Mobile today jointly announced plans for the DM-P100, the first wireless handset in the Disney Mobile portfolio. At the CTIA Wireless 2006 trade show in Las Vegas, the two companies said the new mobile phone was scheduled to hit the U.S. market with the launch of Disney Mobile this summer.
