Palm Europe Ltd. and Turkcell Communication Services PLC, a Turkey-based, leading cellular communications provider, announced the availability of the Palm Treo 750 smartphone for Turkcell’s network. The Palm Treo 750 smartphone is available now at Turkcell stores and authorized dealers. Supporting GSM Edge and UMTS/HSDPA, the Treo 750 smartphone on the Turkcell network comes with a full Turkish overlay, enabling local language support and translation of menus.

Palm announced the Palm Treo 750 smartphone in the Dominican Republic, the first Windows Mobile based Treo smartphone with GSM technology to take advantage of the Orange and Claro networks. Opera and Palm, Inc. announced that the new Palm Foleo mobile companion will use the Opera web browser to provide customers a user-friendly web experience. Based on Opera 9, Opera for the Palm Foleo offers intelligent navigation features and support for advanced Web 2.0 applications using Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML). Opera’s Software Developer Kit (SDK) proved to be a quick-to-market solution in tailoring a browser suitable for the cutting edge of mobile technology.
