Nokia announces a family of smartphones powered by the all new Symbian platform which brings significant enhancements in speed and ease of use. Among the new smartphones is the Nokia C6. The new Nokia C6 device, which is tightly integrated with enhanced Ovi services and apps, reinforces Nokia's vision of a mobile industry that is increasingly being defined by socially connected, location-based devices and experiences. The Nokia C6 joins the previously announced Nokia N8. Beside the C6, Nokia has also announced the Nokia C7 and Nokia E7 to form a family of Symbian products.

In a move to continue driving innovation in its market leading mobile phone range, Nokia unveils the super slim Nokia X3 Touch & Type handset, with a unique combination of a touchscreen and traditional 12 button phone keypad. As Nokia's first 'Touch and Type' phone, the Nokia X3 Touch & Type cell phone allows people to tap quickly on the bright color touch screen, as well as enjoy the familiarity of the full keypad for quick fire text messages and phone calls. "Innovation is not just a high-end game. The new Nokia Touch and Type phone is a great example of bringing new consumer value to lower price points," said Mary McDowell, Vice President of mobile phones at Nokia.

Nokia intros the Nokia X5-01 - a rather unusually shaped slider with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Nokia X5-01 cell phone runs Symbian S60 3rd edition and packs a 2.3 inch display of QVGA resolution. The new Nokia mobile phone supports quad-band GSM connectivity and tri-band HSDPA support for world-wide roaming. Connectivity is further complemented by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and the microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack. Speaking of the 3.5mm audio jack, the Nokia X5-01 is touted as having excellent sound quality and loud speakers. Music consumption on the phone will be enhanced by clever new gestures. For instance, you can spin the phone to jump to a random track.

At a media conference held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, Nokia unveiled its latest C-series mobile phones with three new products under the Nokia C1 name, as well as the new dual-SIM Nokia C2 which will follow at the end of the fourth quarter of 2010. At the same event, Nokia also took the wraps off the Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit, an alternative charging solution built especially for people with limited access to electricity. Among the new mobile phones is the most affordable Nokia C1-02.

Nokia strengthens its TD-SCDMA portfolio announcing the Nokia X5 for TD-SCDMA. Customized for China Mobile - the world's leading telecom operator - the new Nokia X5 cell phone which include the first joint mobile application store, the Mobile Market-Ovi Store, are another demonstration of Nokia's continued commitment to TD-SCDMA as a major standard in China.
