HTC introduced a new 4G Smartphone together with Verizon Wireless, further solidifying HTC global position as the market leader in 4G Smartphones. Samsung announced at the MWC 2011 in Barcelona the updated Bada 2.0 platform. The new and improved version of Samsungs Smartphone operating system includes support for Near Field Communication, HTML 5 and Wholesale Applications Community - as well as voice recognition and multitasking. Near Field Communication allows a Smartphone to read information off of everyday objects like stickers and posters which are embedded with NFC chips, meaning that mobile payments can be made using the Smartphone in retail outlets. Samsung has improved the user experience on the Bada Smartphone platform with a personalized lock-screen, layout management and 3D sound.
