CoolBrands has featured TomTom amongst some of the top brands in the UK, after the recent introduction of several new TomTom models, including the new TomTom GO family with unique features, such as Map Share and the ‘Help Me’ menu. TomTom, the world’s largest portable navigation solutions provider, revealed its new high-end flagship models, the TomTom GO 920 and TomTom GO 920T. The navigation devices come preinstalled with complete maps of the United States, Canada and Europe on the 4 GB of internal memory. The navigation range includes the new Enhanced Positioning Technology for a more continuous navigation experience and comes complete with voice prompted address entry. The Tom Tom GO 920 is compatible with an RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver to receive up-to-date traffic information. The Tom Tom GO 920T includes the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver in the box and a one year traffic subscription.

ProClip USA, announced the launch of three new device holders that are designed to securely hold the TomTom One 3rd Edition in cars, trucks and SUVs. These holders, designed and manufactured by Brodit AB in Sweden, are custom made for the PND and attach to vehicle specific ProClip dashboard mounts. Once this two part solution is attached to the vehicle dashboard, the solution provides for better and closer viewing of the PND’s maps. Holders are also available for the TomTom One XL and TomTom GO 520 and GO 720. “Securely and conveniently mounting handheld devices like the TomTom PNDs, without damaging a vehicle’s interior, is what we do best,” says Bjorn Spilling, president of ProClip USA.

Boost Mobile announced the launch of an exclusive mobile GPS navigation service called Boost Navigator powered by Telmap. The service provides Boost Mobile customers audible turn-by-turn walking and driving directions directly from their Boost Mobile phone. Customers will also have access to premium location-based features including places to “Hangout” such as movie theatres, clubs, malls, etc. or “Restaurants” by category to visit in their area, in addition to “My Favorites” where they can store frequented destinations.

Many people would be lost without GPS navigation. In order to get around without problems, an external GPS receiver is often needed in combination with a notebook, PDA, or mobile phone. Hama, the accessory professionals, have a solar-supported Bluetooth version in their product range.
