Namco Networks, a leading publisher and developer of mobile games and entertainment for mass-market casual gamers, announced that more than 100,000 Popeye comics have been downloaded by consumers since the game launched in November of 2007. Namco has created an innovative method of rewarding players that incorporates a network component into a mobile game that allows consumers to download comic strips as redeemable rewards.

Namco and Sprint announced the Arcade classic game Popeye for mobile phones. Popeye on mobile phone includes both the original arcade version of the game as well as an enhanced mode with bonus game play. Building on the action in the arcade mode, the enhanced mode features fresh new graphics, two brand new rounds (“A Dream Walking” round and “Spinach Run” bonus round), and additional characters, including cameos by Eugene the Jeep and Bernice the Whiffle Hen. Points earned throughout the game can be redeemed for downloadable Popeye comics on mobile phones.

The tournament will be held at Namco Networks’ booth, #913 at the Entertainment for All Expo (E for All), the consumer entertainment and gaming show to be held in Los Angeles, Oct. 18-21.

Woodstock’s nest has fallen and he needs Snoopy’s help! No fear - it’s Snoopy to the rescue in Snoopy the Flying Ace, the latest mobile game from Namco Networks, a publisher and developer of wireless games. In Snoopy the Flying Ace by Namco, players put their piloting skills to the test as Snoopy in his famous fantasy as the WWI Flying Ace, steering his Sopwith Camel deep within “enemy territory,” (the familiar Peanuts neighborhood) to capture balloons and raise Woodstock’s nest. Guide Snoopy through exhilarating aerial adventures from the “Western Front” to the “French Countryside” while avoiding obstacles, including storm clouds, kites and the dreaded Red Baron, which will knock Snoopy off course and leave Woodstock’s nest grounded.
