MagnaChip Semiconductor, a leading global designer, developer and manufacturer of image sensor solutions, mixed-signal and digital multimedia semiconductors, announced the launch of two new high-performance CMOS image sensors for the mobile phone camera market. The MC521EA is a 1/4" optical format 2 megapixel (1600 x 1200) CMOS sensor with integrated advanced image processing, one time programmable, non-volatile memory enabling unique module serialization and calibration, a MIPI (Mobile Industry Process Interface) port and GPIOs, which can be used to support autofocus, as well as other camera functions. The MC521EA additionally features an on-board ARM7TDMI core that can be programmed with different algorithms for auto-function control.
